Snoop Dogg Rocks The Netherlands. 15 November, Paradiso, Amsterdam (The triple X), The Netherlands. Well I didn't dig his last album and wasn't planning to go to his concert. But I received a free ticket from my little brother who couldn't make it. And free is FREE! So on the road. In front of the Paradiso there was a damn big row, everybody squeezed together. Some had to wait for almost four hours. Old fashion style like the Def Jam Tour '87 at the Jaap Eden Hal, Amsterdam. People getting robbed just in front of the doors. Almost nobody saw it and the ones who witnessed didn't see nothing either. Some of the band-crewmembers at the door: "It's just like New York!". Yo man, you know Amsterdam's got it goin' on! At last inside. A raw atmosphere. Everybody came to get down.. Not the normally every-concert-same-b-boys-and-fly-girls but this time like the music: only gangsta's. From every corner and every concrete jungle in The Netherlands they came to see Snoop Dogg rockin' da house. The support act was mad dope. Maybe even fresher than Snoop's gig itself. Kane and Able (No Limit label) came in with beats that definately went straight through this b-girl's soul. Beats sounding like the old Getto Boys. One of the best basslines I heard in a long, long time. And I've been around. The crowd shared my opinion and kept their triggerfingers up in the air all the time. From the front to the back and all the way homeboys had Amsterdam upside down. Mystical and C-Murder joined the biblical brothas after a while and kept the crowd moving. Their rhymes were on another level, but it didn't matter, because Paradiso was partying gangsta-styyyyle! Oh well, and he had some nice tattoos. Finally we saw Him: in a light blue New York Yankees jacket he started with Murder Was The Case They Gave Me. All his old material and of course his new shit. About some real shit, he smoked a joint real long. The house was packed from the front row to back in the attic people had their hands in the air blasting their 'guns'. Music blasting their minds. Only The Artist F.K.A. Prince rocked the house like this. Some gangsta took it too far, the rumours go that there was some real shotlicking later that night. Paradiso didn't want to give comments on this, but said Snoop definately wasn't going to perform another time under their roof, so you probably know tha deal... |
