School Of HardKnocks
4th, Southeast, Editions.

Tri Ad, Shockwave and Mad Flow (4th from the left)
Amsterdam Southeast. On Saturday the 12th of February the classrooms of the School Of HardKnocks where filled with b-boys and b-girls. Because of a renovation
of the Frascati Theater, all the productions moved to the Southeast. So here we were in
Ganzenhoef back home in the concrete jungle.

DJ Precise and Rollarocka
The hosts, DJ Precise and Shockwave, kept the crowd hyped. This time a special featuring of Amo Labs and Postmens RollaRocka, he assisted Precise. Shockwave was explaining the rules loud
and clear: Anyone may stand up to join an do their thing or shit
but sadly no graffiti, but the yard is only 500 meters away. Any
artist or group had only 10 min to do their shit. The audiance
is the judge, they choose their favorite by making as much noise
as possible for the group or artist they want to see them battle.
The crew or artist that received the most noise is the one who
wins. What means that if you make noise for somebody that you
didn't like, he or she still gets props. Booing is still measured
by the sound level meter. So if you didn't like the act, the best
way to let it know was to shut the fuck up and when it was time
to vote it was hell of a noise for Dance Obsession and Tri Ad. For some, it kept awfull quiet. When its clear what the audience
choice is, everybody may register to challenge them. The one who
wins the following battle gets 1000.- cash.
The real opposite of a freestyle
Black Lion
So the show started and people where still coming in. The first
group is called Black Lion. These three kids, all from the Southeast started rapping. One
of the kids brought his lyrics on paper (no, really!) on stage.
"I couldnt memorize it on time so I just read it up." Kid, dont do that. It looks very stupid because it is very stupid.
And finally he still couldnt do his part and throwed the papers
away. One of the other kids jumped in trying to save this kids
ass although it was an impossible job.
Tri Ad
After that, Tri Ad was performing, we could see that these boys where longer in
the game. Their DJ started with some scratching and they started
their first song "Click Click". They brougt us some dope ass beats
and they were hype, they proved it would be hard to beat them.
They came prepared and with skills.
Too sexy: Dance Obsession

After a little while the third group came up, a dance act. Three
girls in red clothes that were thight and sexy. After some steps
three other girls showed up and I think it was like a little battle
in the group. They had a lot of beats coming quickly one over
the other.

A lot of boys in the audience were smiling big when one of the
girls tits flipped out. One of the other girls was kinda shocked
of the incident but she herself just laughed, putted them back
in and continued dancing. They never ever had practice in their
new and sexy out fits. No problem for me but beter have a general
rehearsel next time.
Trap Minds

Two hardcore guys came up with some dope hardcore beats: Trap Minds, those guys remind me off Das Efx. They came with some dope lyrics. And these guys knew what they
where doing. But I still don't know what that one boy was doing
with his headphone still on, on stage? Please tell me.
Solved Problematic

This combination of one girl and two boys gave a nice show. She
sung, one boy rapped and there was a DJ. The girl had a nice voice
but held the mic a little bit too far away from her mouth. And,
no really, this fella also forgot his lines so he went in his
pocket and got his little paper to see what he was rappin about!!
No, really.
DJ Precise was putting on some dope ass tracks that the b-boys
and b-girl were taking over the dancefloor. The show had to continue
so a little boy, Rowan Kenie, came on stage and did his thing with a dance act. 10 minutes
the same move on a musical combination of some soca/bubbling and
a LL Cool J track. It was fun and the ladies cherished it.
The last group came out with the name of 2 Men Army. These two boys, also from the Southeast, came on with some clubbin
rap lyrics.
At 23:45, it was time to come out with the finalist. A lot of
people were standing under the microphone to scream that shit
out of their lungs for their favorite. It was tight between Dance
Obsession and Tri Ad.
The audience chose Tri Ad. While they started to prepare for the
battle any one else had the chance to stand up to battle them.
The fella's were challenged by at least 10 MC's, that thought
they could do it better. The challengers had to introduce themselfs
with a little line or headspin or beatbox or whatever. There were
peeps from The Hague, Australia and the US. Out of nowhere came
a kid from Birmingham. In a split second he showed that he definitily
could give Tri Ad a run for their money. It was easy for the audience
to pick "Mad Flow" the kill from Birmingham, England as the best
challenger.

Mad Flow versus Tri Ad
Mad Flow is a kill who doesn't need a DJ. He was doing everything
with his mouth from scratching to beatboxing and rappin. And
I can garantee that he has a mad flow. Tri Ad once more came prepared.
Two Kills where smoking weed on stage and one was acting not to
do that shit instead he was drinking some yoghurt. Even offered
Mad Flow some. But instead to put some yoghurt in it they threw
a coin in it. Mad Flow was accepting it all and was getting warm
for his turn. One of the Tri Ad kills was screaming: "There is only one razhel." That triggered him. Theres is also only one Cowboy. What followed
where ±20 minutes of a straight up battle between the two camps.
They all deserve the tittle of champ. Never seen a battle that
tight before.

Shockwave and Mad Flowss
Mad Flow took the 1000,-. Tri Ad showed that they were not to
take lightly and may call themselves with all rights real champs.
Together with Mad Flow they gave the audience some entertainment
that even outdid the third edition. Tri AD and Mad Flow marked
their presence in history. Check the Who That? page.
